Boom. Boom. Pow.

The theme song of the weekend as well as the most ridiculous song ever. Well, maybe not ever but...somehow, when Fergie starts singing those ridiculous lyrics, in tune with the theme, I begin to start ridiculously dancing. Welcome to my Saturday night.

K8, D&Me, and I explored Charlotte in a Cliff Notes version of a weekend. The two girls got here Saturday afternoon, and we kicked off our condensed visit with a trip to the Taste of Charlotte festival.

A large fabulous meal and a few glasses of vino later, we were those girls that Dane Cook talks about: the ones that stand in a circle at the bar with their pointy shoes, not talking to anyone else because they are too busy dancing and singing to one another.

So judge as you may, but I had a blast. I was sad to see the girls go.

Quite unlike my Saturday night, tonight I decided to catch up on a little pleasure reading. I am about to begin Chelsea Handler’s, My Horizontal Life. If you haven’t passed it in a bookstore yet, you will be amused to find it is quite literally named. I LOVED Are You There Vodka, It’s Me, Chelsea, and I have heard this one is just as good. I pretty much just love the woman in general. She is pretty, uncouth, and hilarious. Did I mention uncouth?

My Hard Drive Issues, the Upcoming Weekend, & a Giveaway for the Ladies

Those of you who know me, know that I am living in Charlotte with a roommate who is studying for that dreadful multi-day little diddy they call The Bar. Ironically and somewhat cruelly named, most people who have sat for the thing will tell you it is anything but a party. These poor, brave, law grad souls sit in a class for half the day, and then, bury themselves in the books after hours. Well, some do. The ones who aren't doing that now will hopefully fall into the routine come July 4th: the universal get-down-to-business deadline.

Point being, sometimes I just have to relocate from the living room to give my roommate a decent studying environment. Not because she requests so. In fact, she has been so sweet about making me feel at home. But because, unlike The Bar, my blog was not so ironically named. Translation: IF I DO NOT LEAVE THE ROOM I WILL TALK HER POOR HEAD OFF. So on Thursday, I planted myself outside after work to relax. I sat on our cutest ever patio/balcony area with a glass of wine and my computer on my lap. My phone rings. It is Kyle, so I decide to pack up my stuff and move to my room to chat. I pride myself on my multitasking skills, but there are some spaz-esque days when it feels as though Miss Chat Tea can hardly chew gum and walk simultaneously. Not really, but to set the stage... I attempt to carry all of my items into my room while I have the phone on my ear and OOPS. I drop my computer. Now, my pretty little computer is saying some not-so-ladylike things about my hard drive. Can't we all just get along? Luckily, Kyle came into town the next day and left me his computer for a few weeks. I think I need to get the Geek Squad on this one.

In more fun news, we are celebrating K8's birthday belated-style in the form of a girls' Charlotte weekend. Let's just say I did some in person restaurant and bar research this past weekend to help plan the itinerary. After all that successful research, I really cannot wait.

& ending on a more positive note than I started, to all the ladies:
Enter here to win this cute Lilly Pulitzer wallet from Ms. Lauren Nicole. It's summer, so we can all use a little color in our lives. I hope everyone has a great week!
